Two thirds of restaurants in large cities (over 100,000 inhabitants) already recycle paper, plastic, and other waste materials. In cities under 80,000 inhabitants, it's only one in 5. This is according to a new study by the National Restaurant Association.
Another big catch is that the Czech Republic still lacks a recycling incentive program. For example, in America, you can win up to 200,000 dollars in a national competition for a zero waste program. And what's more? According to a survey, 60 percent of American consumers prefer to eat at restaurants that recycle, and about half of them are willing to pay a higher tip.
And what about us? Will we gradually start boycotting restaurants that don't recycle? Or will we start paying more attention to those that do recycle? Both are the right step from our point of view.
