An idea was born in the minds of Scott and Julie Brusaw some time ago to use solar-powered cells to illuminate roads, highways and parking lots. They have been working together on developing solar cells for this purpose for many years.
The Brusaws have developed hexagon-shaped solar panels made from durable glass, with each panel controlled by its own microprocessor that will promptly respond to the currently evaluated situation and surrounding conditions. The solar-powered cells will illuminate road surfaces and parking lots, but should also produce heat capable of preventing road icing in winter. The durability of these panels is high, with a load capacity of up to 100 tons. The testing phase was successful, and now comes the practical phase, in cooperation with the American highway authority, when these ecological, environmentally friendly panels powered only by solar energy will be installed. Just imagine the nighttime view from above, when solar panels spread across all roads: A land woven with veins of light... Check out the video here. red, photo archive solarroadways.com
