Mars Inc. has decided to purchase a huge wind farm. This is meant to be part of a broader plan to achieve 100% use of energy from renewable sources before 2040. 
This is the first sign indicating which direction Mars Inc. has turned its attention. The company intends to come up with additional purchases in the area of renewable sources, and will most likely start with Texas wind farms. The strategy of Mars Inc. is based on the idea that by transitioning to energy from renewable sources, it will contribute to environmental protection, while at the same time positively establishing the Mars brand in consumers' minds as a quality "green" product. "It's great for our planet, and it makes financial sense for our business," said Barry Parkin, one of the executives of this company, which is among the largest family businesses in the world and has been operating in the Czech and Slovak Republics for more than 20 years, since 1992.
